About Josh

Joshua Topolsky heads Engadget as Editor-in-chief, overseeing the creative and editorial content for the technology blog — the flagship brand of the Weblogs Inc. network. He also manages sister-sites Engadget Mobile and Engadget HD, and supervises the growing pool of Engadget foreign arms, including hubs for Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese. In all, the stable of properties sees millions of visitors a day, and is widely considered to be the definitive source for consumer electronics and gadget news.

As an authoritative voice on technology, Joshua has been quoted by The New York Times, CNN, USA Today, The Globe and Mail, and Ad Age, and is a regular guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He has also appeared on G4’s Attack of the Show, Tekzilla, and Fox & Friends. His work as a writer and editor on the site has yielded the highest single-day traffic in the history of Engadget, and he led the team during 2009’s CES and Macworld coverage, the most trafficked week since the site’s inception.

A lifelong gadget geek, Joshua had his first computer at age 6 (a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A), and has been breaking apart (and piecing back together) technology since phones had rotary dialers. Before joining Engadget in 2007, he produced music under the name Joshua Ryan, both solo as an electronic musician (he scored a top 40 hit in the UK), and with his sibling Eric under the “Brothers” moniker.
